Ra is the son of Annu, sometimes dignified as the creator of man. In the day he stayed in the sky but at

night he traveled to the underworld where Apep threatened him with demons. Ra is often associated with

Horus. As a combination they are known as Ra-Hoor-Khuit,"Horus of the Horizons."
